According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will make an effort to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong this summer.

The Catalan giants have been heavily linked with Matthijs de Ligt in recent days but they also have their eye on another Ajax talent.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Barcelona have identified Frenkie de Jong as a top target. They will make a move to sign him this summer but if that is not possible they may look into a deal which seals his signature but will keep him in Amsterdam for another season.
De Jong has made 26 appearances for Ajax this season but in the centre of defence as a libero. However, his future lies in the centre of midfield and Barcelona see him as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets.
The 20-year-old has a contract at Ajax until 2022

De Jong, Kluivert, van de Beek and de Ligt need to stay with Ajax for 2 more seasons for the sake of Dutch football.
They should be paid market price salaries.
They should be allowed to make deals with other clubs during the two years, as long as they stay.
And just as importantly Ajax need to buy players for the next two seasons to play with them – player not just with potential, but established, seasonsed world class players.
Ajax/Dutch football needs to splash the cash for once. They can talk about all the other investment and programmes they want but the best investment right now is buying players to play with these four at Champions League quality.
He should be staying 4 more years. Our players should not be leaving until 24-25 years old.
