Bayern Munich were interested in signing De Jong when he was with Ajax, but the midfielder chose Barcelona.
However, the Catalan giants have big financial issues which are hampering their chances of making signings. One or two players may have to be sold to raise funds.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Bayern Munich senses an opportunity and have opened talks with De Jong’s agent Ali Dursun.
The Bundesliga giants would be willing to pay Barcelona the €75 million plus bonuses that they paid Ajax for De Jong.
