The 20-year-old moved from Utrecht to PSV in the summer and has since made his debut for Netherlands in the 1-1 draw with Belgium last week. On Sunday, Ramselaar started for Oranje in the 3-1 win over Luxembourg and caught the eye with an impressive performance.
Speaking to NOS, Ramselaar said on his time with Netherlands, ”I am delighted that things have gone so quickly and to have made my international debut. I watched the 2010 World Cup final at home with my parents, brother and sister I was only 14 then. I never thought that would go on to become a teammate of Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder. It is a dream come true to make my debut for the Dutch national team and play alongside such players.
” When I arrived in the national team setup I had a few nerves and it was strange to report for national team duty and to be treated the same as the experienced pro’s in the squad . Afterwards, you realise what an honor it is to represent your country ”.
Ramselaar also elaborated on his good form for PSV lately, ”The manager knows what I can do and I am also aware of what I can add to the team. I feel happy here at PSV and I feel important to the team. I was disappointed not to play against Bayern Munich but I trained hard and responded well and since then I have managed to play all the games.”
On his future, he responded, ” I do not wish to speak about my future and predict what will happen 2 years from now for example. In terms of this season I want to win trophies because I have never won a trophy that would be fantastic and that is our goal here at PSV this season. If I was to ever receive a call from a Spain to play for a Spanish club that is a goal for the future.”
