Peter Bosz has been sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after a poor run of results.

The Bundesliga club confirmed the news on Tuesday morning that Bosz had been relieved of his duties with immediate effect, along with assistants Hendrie Krüzen and Rob Maas.

Director Rudi Voller told the club’s website, “Due to the developments of the last few weeks, we have come to the decision that the resignation of Peter Bosz is inevitable.

“The 3-0 defeat at Hertha BSC was unfortunately the sign that our team has been falling into the same pattern over and over again lately. We have not been able to deal with the recurring mistakes and return to the successful path. After a businesslike and open analysis of the sporting situation, we therefore agreed to come to a break despite the great appreciation for Peter Bosz.”

Bosz has been with Leverkusen since December 2018 and he led the club to fourth in his first season and fifth last year. Leverkusen started this season strongly but they sack Bosz with the club sitting in sixth place.
