Bayern Munich needed a win to seal their eighth straight Bundesliga title. Joshua Zirkzee began on the bench with Robert Lewandowski back from suspension. Davy Klaassen started for Werder Bremen.
In the 43rd minute, Bayern took the lead through Lewandowski, who scored his 31st league goal of the season after bringing down a pass by Jerome Boateng.
That proved to be the only goal of the game despite Bayern being reduced to ten men when Alphonso Davies saw his second yellow card. Manuel Neuer made an excellent save Yuya Osako’s header just before the end.
Zirkzee stayed on the bench for the game and he watched on as Bayern sealed their eighth straight title and 30th in their history. On the other hand, Werder Bremen now only have two games to avoid relegation.
