The Bavarian giants have agreed to pay €67 million, with a further €10 million in bonuses, for the Dutch international, who becomes the third Dutchman at the club with Joshua Zirkzee and Ryan Gravenberch.
De Ligt moved from Ajax to Juventus in the summer of 2019 and he went on to make 117 appearances for the Serie A side. He won one Serie A title and one Coppa Italia.
Speaking to the club website, De Ligt said, “I am very happy to become a player of this great club. Bayern is the most successful club in Germany, one of the most successful in Europe and also in the world.
“From the first moment I have felt the sincere appreciation of the sporting leadership, the trainer and the board. That convinced me.”
The deal makes De Ligt the most expensive Dutchman ever as his combined transfer fees have reached €145 million, while Virgil van Dijk had the previous record of €103.1 million.
