The winger decide to retire last summer, but he has hinted at a return to football several times.
Speaking to BILD, Robben revealed that Bayern Munich tried to bring him back after Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman suffered injuries in the winter.
He said, “It was only very brief. In December and January I felt very fit and considered returning. In the end I decided not to do it. Okay, it was very tempting to put my boots back on. On the other hand, I enjoyed spending time with my family and found distraction with skiing.”
Robben will move back to the Netherlands this summer, “In the summer we go back to the Netherlands, home. From the age of eighteen I went from Groningen, to Eindhoven, to Chelsea, to Real Madrid, to Bayern Munich. We have lived abroad for seventeen years, of which eleven in Munich. We are very happy, but it does require some adjustment. “
Robben doesn’t know what the future holds, “I don’t know yet what I want to do. I’m open to everything. I just want to take the time to get used to the Netherlands.”
