Both Netherlands boss Frank de Boer and Curacao coach Guus Hiddink were present to watch Vitesse Arnhem’s 3-1 loss to PSV on Sunday.
Hiddink has made it known he would like to convince Bazoer to represent Curacao, despite his six caps for the Netherlands. Bazoer hasn’t played in Oranje since 2016, making a change possible.
However, when asked about the opportunity to represent Curacao, Bazoer told ESPN, “Of course I have been approached a few times by Guus Hiddink. But of course I just have a goal and I would prefer to join the Dutch national team.”
Bazoer is focused on playing well for Vitesse and hopes a call will come from De Boer, “I just try to reach a high level every game. And then we’ll see.”
