bazoer-aja-gThe Bundesliga strugglers confirmed on their website that Bazoer has signed a contract with the club until 2021 after they agreed a fee with Ajax, believed to be €12 million.

Wolfsburg head coach Valerién Ismaël said on the signing: “I know Riechedly Bazoer well and firmly believe in the quality he possesses. He suits our team perfectly and can help VfL get back on the right track.”

Bazoer joined Ajax from the PSV academy in 2012 and made his first team debut under Frank de Boer a year later. Bazoer went on to become a first team regular and a Dutch international, but he lost his place in the Ajax side when Peter Bosz took over in the summer.

The 20-year-old made a total of 51 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax, scoring six times but he will now join up with fellow Dutchman Jeffrey Bruma at Wolfsburg. Bazoer should make his debut for the club after the winter break in late January and will look to help Wolfsburg avoid relegation. They currently sit 15th and a single point off the bottom.
