The 23-year-old spoke to De Telegraaf, and revealed that an agreement between Watford and AZ Alkmaar was close, and when the deal is done he can sign a four or five year deal in London.
Berghuis said, “Watford and AZ have a couple of small points to reach before an agreement. What it is all about, I do not know. But John van den Brom (AZ coach) And Earnie Stewart (Technical Director) Assured me that it will be fine.
“Once Watford and AZ are agreed, I can sign for four or five years. That must be negotiated further.”
The winger also revealed he visited the club in London last week, “My father, brother and i were in London last week.”
“I’m an emotional person and i want to go to a club that I feel comfortable. It was a visit without any expectations, but I’m certainly open to Watford.”
