The Eredivisie top scorer remains at Feyenoord, despite a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the club this summer for a fee of €8 million.

AD is now reporting that this fee will lower in eight months time, meaning Feyenoord could lose their star for a tiny fee.

The price will make Berghuis an attractive signing for a number of European clubs. The former AZ Alkmaar winger has only played abroad once, with a failed adventure at Watford ending with him moving back to the Netherlands in 2017.
