Berghuis barely played for Watford last season, but showed his class for Netherlands in their three summer friendlies. With Walter Mazzarri taking charge of the club this summer it is not yet clear whether Berghuis is in his plans for next season, but the winger is expecting clarity this week.
Speaking to RTV Rijnmond, Berghuis said, “Everyone is now back at the European Championships and this week it becomes clearer,. It’s just not yet known what Watford want from me but what I want for myself is clear. If I can play in the Premier League, then that’s my preference, but not at all costs.”
Feyenoord have been linked with a loan move for the former AZ star, and Berghuis admitted he is open to a return to Netherlands if Watford don’t see him in their plans. He added, “Feyenoord is a great club. I’m a footballer and I want to play.”
Come home Steven! Yourself, Elia, and Jorgensen will be a great front line. At Watford you will never see a trophy or win a Championship of any type. At Feyenoord you will. The Shield in 2 weeks, the Dutch Cup, a srong chance at the Eredivisie title, and with another move or 2 chance at a deep run in Europa. There is nothing to stay for at Watford.
All facts.
