Steven Bergwijn has ended speculation of a move away from PSV Eindhoven by signing a new contract with the club.

The 21-year-old was linked with several clubs this summer including Ajax, Bayern Munich and Sevilla. However, the winger has decided to stay with PSV and signs a one-year extension to his current contract, which now runs until 2023.

Bergwijn told the PSV website, “This is the right decision.

“There were other options, but ultimately everything has to fit. For me, but also for PSV. And the result is that I stay here. With great pleasure and with great confidence. “

Bergwijn has made 127 appearances for PSV Eindhoven, scoring 26 goals and adding 30 assists.
