The winger was an injury doubt for Sunday’s clash after being stretchered off in their 5-0 win at Fortuna Sittard last week. However, Bergwijn was named in the starting eleven for the trip to Utrecht.
With his side losing 2-0, Bergwijn helped PSV battle back with a slick pass to Luuk de Jong, who fired in to make it 2-1. The assist helped PSV on their way to a 2-2 draw but also continued Bergwijn’s impressive record.
In the last ten Eredivisie games, the 21-year-old has provided at least one goal or an assist. The run started with a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win at De Graafschap on the 11th of October. Since then he has provided another four goals and five assists.
Bergwijn is the leading assist provider in the Eredivisie this season with 11 and has also scored nine goals.
The winger’s form is excellent and justifies the interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, who have both been heavily linked with a move for the Dutch international.
