Lens played on loan with Besiktas rival Fenerbahce last season and was expected to return to the club this summer. However, they failed to agree a deal with Sunderland and Lens has decided to join Besiktas, who won the Turkish Super Lig last season and will feature in the Champions League.
Besiktas will be Len’s fourth foreign club after spells with Dynamo Kiev, Sunderland and Fenerbahce. Before that he starred for PSV Eindhoven.
