The 35-year-old announced his retirement last summer and he played a farewell match when Netherlands beat Peru in September.

However, speaking to De Telegraaf, Sneijder confirmed that he will have a testimonial match in Utrecht on the 3rd of June. Bert van Marwijk will coach a side featuring several of his Oranje teammates including Clarence Seedorf, Dirk Kuijt, Patrick Kluivert, Arjen Robben, Mark van Bommel, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Edgar Davids.

While Jose Mourinho will coach the other side, featuring a lot of his former Internazionale teammates including Samuel Eto’o, Julio César, Javier Zanetti, Cristian Chivu, Diego Milito, Esteban Cambiasso and Dejan Stankovic.

Other names are set to be confirmed before the match takes place.
