New Netherlands boss Danny Blind has named his provisional squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers with Iceland and Turkey.

Netherlands play two crucial qualifiers next month, hosting group leaders Iceland on the 3rd of September before travelling to Turkey three days later, and today Danny Blind announced his provisional squad for the ties.
Blind, who replaced Guud Hiddink as the head coach in July, has brought Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita back from the wilderness for his first call up since 2010, while Marco van Ginkel is also recalled. The new faces in the squad are young Ajax duo Jairo Riedewald and Kenny Tete (pictured), who have impressed in the Amsterdam club’s defence so far this season.
Newcastle right back Daryl Janmaat, PSV’s Davy Propper, Twente’s Hakim Ziyech and Feyenoord’s Sven van Beek are not included, while Kevin Strootman, Ron Vlaar and Jetro Willems all miss out through injury.
