Bundesliga 2 club VFL Bochum have confirmed Gertjan Verbeek as their manager for the next 18 months, today the terms of the contract were finalized. The 52 year old was previously the manager of FC Nurnberg who were then in Bundesliga.

The former defender will take fellow Dutchman Raymond Libregts as his assistant at the club. The former AZ Alkmaar manager was present to see his new side draw 1-1 against Erzgebirge Aue on Sunday.
This is what Verbeek had to say on his appointment,
“The challenge is to return as soon as possible to the Bundesliga and play attractive football, I look forward to working with this club.”
Bochum are currently eleventh in the division with 23 points from 19 games and resume their season on February 7 away at FC Union Berlin.
