boetiusBoetius has been out of action since injuring his ankle in training last April, missing Feyenoord’s final league games, Netherland’s U21’s European Championship campaign, and the opening matches of this season.

Without Boetius, Feyenoord have endured a difficult start to the season, which seems them in the lower ranks of the league table, and already out of the Europa League after defeat to Kuban Krasnodar.

However the 19 year old is on the comeback trail, and played 45 minutes for Feyenoord in their surprise friendly with RKC Waalwijk on Thursday.

The match was only announced to the players on Thursday morning, and saw RKC Waalwijk come out on top 2-0 thanks to goals from Desley Ubbink and Dennis Lemke.

Boetius started the game, but came off at half time to be replaced by Mitchell de Vrede, while star man Graziano Pelle was not involved in the Feyenoord side already missing several names, who are on international duty.

The winger was one of the standout player’s for Feyenoord last season, as they finished 3rd, and fans of the club will be awaiting his league comeback, which may come against NEC Nijmegen in ten days time.
