The 53-year-old has left Ajax after a year in Amsterdam, signing a two-year deal with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund to replace Thomas Tuchel who was sacked last month.
Speaking at his press conference, Bosz said on his time at Ajax, “I’m also sorry I’m leaving #Ajax. Talented players and great lads, we worked well together. So it hurts but that’s football.
Reports in Netherlands stated that Bosz is leaving Ajax because of an internal power struggle involving other members of his technical staff and director Edwin van der Sar. When asked, Bosz’s wouldn’t go into detail on the reports, stating, “A lot has written in Holland about what happened. But now, only BVB counts, not what’s in the past. I’m looking forward.”
The former Heracles and Vitesse Arnhem coach guided Ajax to the Europa League final in his sole year in Amsterdam, while the club finished 2nd in the Eredivisie. Ajax will now begin the search for a new head coach, with Roger Schmidt heavily linked in the Dutch press on Tuesday.
