Ex-Ajax boss Peter Bosz was disappointed after seeing his former side exit the Champions League.

On Thursday, Bosz was asked about Ajax’s 3-2 loss to Tottenham at his press conference.
The Bayer Leverkusen boss responded, “It hurts me, because I still know a lot of people there and it is a shame for Dutch football.
“But it also hurts me for the football world. Chances are that not only the Champions League final will go between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, but Chelsea and Arsenal will also reach the Europa League final. Most of the money is in the Premier League and when four clubs in that competition reach European finals, that is not good for football. “
Bosz also stated he “felt so sorry” for Ajax due to the lateness of the defeat on Wednesday.
No but the run was good. Beat two clubs who each had one player who.made as much ore more then squad in Bale & Ronaldo.
And I think if Kane was fit. AJAX win. It was the long ball 2nd half couldn’t deal with. Ues Moura got the goals but Llorente changed the game
I don’t believe for one second that had Ajax held on against Spurs, that it would make any difference at all with the “good for football” point Bosz makes. He’s right, but Ajax could have gone on to win the Champions League and Frenkie de Jong still goes to Barcelona. de Ligt still leaves, likely to Barcelona. Ajax will still get big money offers for Neres, Tagliafico, perhaps Ziyech and more too, which it’s likely they will accept.
It’s the same for PSV with the likelihood of exits this summer for Lozano, Bergwijn, Zoet, Dumfries and probably more. This is the reality of being a top Eredivisie club. The last good run in the Champions League for PSV was 2005 and it took 14 years for Ajax to be the next Dutch club into the semi-finals.
There is no reason to believe it will be any sooner for Ajax or PSV to get that far again. The national team has a lot to look forward to in the near future. Eredivisie clubs, not so much I’m afraid.
