The 28-year-old had two successful years at Utrecht between 2014 and 2016, scoring 19 times in 33 official matches.
Boymans then left for a lucrative contract with Al-Shabab in the United Arab Emirates. However, the striker became a free agent in the summer and has since been without a club.
Utrecht have left the door open for a return and Boymans is set to train with his former club in order to earn a contract. He is currently recovering from an injury and told Voetbal International, “The reporting that it is already around is still a bit premature. I’m still rehabilitating now, I need another four weeks for that, but I think it’s already around. FC Utrecht is a very nice club.”
