Last summer, Brobbey decided to depart Ajax on a free transfer for RB Leipzig, but the striker’s time in Germany was short-lived. In January, Brobbey returned to Ajax on loan and he made no secret that he was hoping to make it permanent.
Ajax and RB Leipzig had been in talks for months and finally, they agreed a fee of €16.35 million. That fee could rise a further €3 million through bonuses. Brobbey has signed his contract until 2027 and has already joined up with his teammates.
The 20-year-old, who will wear the number nine shirt, is Ajax’s fifth summer signing after Owen Wijndal, Steven Bergwijn, Calvin Bassey and Francisco Conceição.
