The 34-year-old’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expired this summer and he has returned to Roda JC, where he started his career.
The defender told the official Roda JC website, “I am very happy that I can return to Roda JC.
“I played from my eleventh birthday to my 23rd here and it is still my club. I hope that we have a very nice season next year. ”
Brouwers made 49 league appearances for Roda JC before he left for German side Paderborn in 2005. Two years later the defender moved to Gladbach where he has spent the last nine years.
