buttButtner has found first team opportunity’s at a premium since joining the Premier League champions from Vitesse in 2012, with the 24-year-old only making 17 appearances in two seasons.

The left back is now expecting to leave the club in the new year with both Genoa, and Roma contacting Manchester United looking to make a deal.

His agent Alexander Bursac has told De Telegraaf that they will hold talks with Manchester United straight after this weekend to see if any deal will be a loan or permanent. Bursac also believes a deal can be done over the next few days, with Buttner expecting a new club by Christmas.

The Dutchman spoke earlier in the season off wanting to break into the Netherlands national team, and a move to Italy could see him push for a place in next summer’s World Cup.
