The away side went into the game in 17th place and without a win in the Eredivisie since September, but they took the lead just before the half hour mark with Erik Falkenburg beating Leonard Nienhuis with an accurate header.
Cambuur had lost their last three matches at their home ground, and they went searching for an equaliser, but their usual fluid style of passing was nowhere to be seen, while NAC Breda defended brilliantly. As the match went on Cambuur became more desperate, but they couldn’t find the equaliser, Albert Rusnak sent a shot wide, while top scorer Bartholomew Ogbeche also missed two great chances.
The win will came as a great relief to NAC Breda, who now leap above Heracles and into 16th, while Cambuur sit 9th.
