After the match, Marcel Keizer told NOS, ”After going 2-0 down we lost belief and we pulled a goal back that was really a present from NEC.”

”When you are bottom of the league it is normal that luck goes against you and we have to pick ourselves up for yet another game”.

”I have to bring optimism to my squad and stay positive and we must look at how we can improve.

“In a relegation battle the mental aspect is very important we know that we can play football, for example, today we played well in a positional sense and showed some good things today it’s just we just have difficulty in getting over the line in terms of a victory.

”We are aware that De Graafschap are a point further away from us and they may well pick up points in their final games of the season but we play 3 more finals and relegation football is not always pretty.”

SC Cambuur are two points adrift of De Graafschap and they host fellow relegation candidates Willem II at home this coming Thursday.
