The Dutchman fell out of favour at Feyenoord under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and decided to join Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season in January.
The 29-year-old has made a big impact in Wales, scoring three goals in seven league games, and boss Russell Slade has lavished praise on the midfielder.
Slade is quoted by De Telegraaf saying, “Lex came here on day one with the right attitude. He did not ask himself what Cardiff City could do as a club for him, but what he could do for the club.
“He wants to know what is the idea behind our tactics, what is the role of all his teammates, what should be his role for the team. Lex is a top professional.
“He does everything for this team and that I find so wonderful about him. ”
Slade also revealed his hope to keep Immers at the club, but with Cardiff City going under financial fair play rules, it remains to be seen if they can do a deal with Feyenoord.
