Cardiff City have failed with a move for Heracles Almelo striker Wout Weghorst according to reports in Wales.

Wales Online is reporting that Cardiff City made a £700,000 bid for the Dutch forward, but they have had the offer knocked back with Heracles hoping for around £3 million to part with Weghorst.
Cardiff City sources have reportedly confirmed to the website that they would not be returning with an improved offer as they believe Weghorst is not worth the asking price.
The tall 23-year-old has netted 11 times in 35 Eredivisie appearances for Heracles since joining the club from FC Emmen in 2014. Weghorst has one cap for the Netherlands U21’s.
