The Belgian stopper has been with Heracles over the past three seasons but has now decided to depart to return to his homeland to be closer to his family.
Castro told the Heracles website, “It’s very difficult for me to leave Heracles Almelo.
“In the last few years, i have lived far away from my wife and two children. It was becoming increasingly more wringing, so when this opportunity came along to play close to home, I have tackled this. I am delighted that the club still receives a transfer fee for me, but It is at the same time very hard time to leave Heracles Almelo.
“I will miss the club and the people tremendously and wish them every success and happiness.”
The 34-year-old previously played with PSV Eindhoven and Roda JC before he joined Heracles in 2014.
