NEC Nijmegen are facing an uphill battle to remain in the Champions League after a 3-1 defeat at home to Bodo/Glimt.

NEC began the game with their usual high energy approach but they survived a scare when a penalty was awarded for a handball against Brayann Pereira. However, VAR overruled the decision.
In the 25th minute, the visitors did take the lead as Sondre Braut Fet scored from close range. Before the break, things got worse as Tobias Storm conceded a penalty which was scored by Andreas Helmersen.
NEC’s chances of progressing looked all but over when Haitam Aleesami headed home from a corner.
Dick Schreuder made changes and they would eventually pull one goal back before the end as Clement Bischoff finished after a flick by Dusan Tadic.
Next week, NEC heads to Norway looking to overturn the deficit or they will be dropping down to the Europa League.
