Chelsea have loaned Dutch defender Ian Maatsen to Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.

In 2018, Maatsen swapped the PSV Eindhoven academy for Chelsea, and has since played once in the club’s first team.

In search of regular first-team football, Chelsea have sent the young left-back on loan to Charlton Athletic.

The 18-year-old will be playing in League one, with Charlton currently sitting 17th after a poor start to the campaign.
