De Telegraaf reported earlier this week that Ajax’s search for a new striker in January has led to them making a loan move for Traore, who spent two years in the Eredivisie previously with Vitesse.
Chelsea scout Piet de Visser has confirmed to Voetbal International that Ajax director Marc Overmars has previously attempted to sign the Burkina Faso international, and believes he would learn a lot in Amsterdam.
De Visser said, “Marc Overmars has already asked me about him, but José Mourinho didn’t want to let him go. At this time he is on the bench at Chelsea. That’s a shame, because Bertrand is a super talent. ”
“He has a great technique and is cool in finishing. He stood out with Vitesse and at Ajax he would be working with better players. For him it is important to play for Ajax after the winter, he can make a difference in the title race. “
