Speaking to FR12.nl, Chong stated he is not joining Manchester United for the money, “Unfortunately, I have not come out with Feyenoord when we were talking about a contract. I would have liked to stay longer at Feyenoord because its my club.”

“The discussions were very vague and I had expected more of it. Only after that conversation, I went to talk to Manchester United and I chose this. Many people call it I do it for the money, but I’m not a money grab. I choose the sporting adventure and for me it is now time to look forward.”

Chong confirmed he would start life in the U19’s, “I start in Manchester in the A1 and may sometimes take part in Manchester United U21’s”

“I’ve been there a few times and I am definitely impressed by the club. United have good accommodation for youth players and it is up to me to make that step. My parents will go to England and it’s good to have their support there,”
