According to De Telegraaf, the 26-year-old is one of the top two targets to replace De Gea, and Manchester United may offer €25 million to seal a deal for the Ajax player of the season.

However Ajax director Marc Overmaars has insisted they have not been contacted about Cillessen, who is not for sale at any price this summer.

Overmars said, “He’s not for sale. No not even for €25 million.”

The summer is still early though, and should Manchester United make an official approach and Cillessen indicate he would like to leave, then a deal could be done.
