Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is not ruling out a return to Ajax.

The 29-year-old left Amsterdam for Barcelona back in 2016 but he has played second fiddle to Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

Cillessen is expected to leave Barcelona in the summer as he looks for more regular first-team action and has been linked with several top European clubs. Speaking to Ziggo Sport, Cillessen is also not ruling out a return to Ajax.

He said on a move back to the Johan Cruijff ArenA, “I do not play football for the money. Sporting reasons is the most important thing. I am not saying no by definition anyway. We will see what comes and then I have to make decisions. I do not want to give the people in Amsterdam a false hope, but I also do not say that I do not want to go back to Ajax. It is of course also what Barcelona wants and what still comes my way. Of course I want to play in a top competition. ”

Barcelona have been linked with a move for current Ajax number one, Andre Onana in the past week. He is seen as the perfect successor to Cillessen at the Nou Camp.
