With Feyenoord failing to qualify for the Europa League next season, Clasie has decided he can no longer develop his game in Rotterdam and will now look to leave, despite being contracted to De Kuip until 2018.
Southampton have long been credited with interest in the 24-year-old with former Feyenoord boss seeing Clasie as a potential replacement for the sought after Morgan Schneiderlin. The Premier League club are not the only interested party though with VI stating that Russian side Zenit and Italian giants Roma could also make a move for the Dutch international.
Clasie could start a summer exodus from Feyenoord with Karim El Ahmadi, Lex Immers, and Tonny Vilhena also looking to look leave.
Hope he goes to Southampton. Really looking forward to seeing how he goes. He’s more likely than others to make a good transition to the EPL. And RK will get the best out of him.
Roma will be great too ONLY if there’s a guarentee that the coach plans to partner him with Strootman, not just to bolster the squad.
Wish him the best of luck.
