Algemeen Dagblad are reporting that Phillip Cocu will sign a four-year deal as the new head coach of Derby County on Wednesday.

Current Derby County boss Frank Lampard is set to take over at Chelsea, and the English Championship side set their sights on Cocu.

According to AD, Cocu has agreed a four-year deal with Derby County, which he will sign on Wednesday. He will take with him his former PSV assistant Chris van der Weerden and current Jong PSV-assistant Twan Scheepers with him as his assistants. Both of them will also sign four-year contracts.

Cocu enjoyed plenty of success in five years with PSV Eindhoven, lifting three Eredivisie titles, before departing last summer for Fenerbahce. The 48-year-old only lasted a few months in Turkey before being sacked.

Cocu will now be charged with getting Derby County back to the Premier League. They came close last season but fell short in the playoff final.
