PSV dropped points for the 3rd time in four games on Saturday night after they missed chance after chance against Heracles, and they are currently six points behind the leaders Feyenoord, who have a game in hand.
Cocu said on his side’s slump, “We are falling into repetition in terms of not taking our chances and I am angry about the way we conceded the goal. We are currently in a phase where we are nearly there in terms of taking chances it’s also the case that the sparse chances that are opponents are getting They are taking them and that is frustrating.
“Once again we have dropped points at home and that is unnecessary and we have to try to turn it around and continue to work hard and believe in one another and we must be convincing in the way we create and take our chances.
” If Feyenoord win tomorrow and we are then 9 points behind them I do believe that we can catch them during the reminder of the season that is theoretically possible but at the moment we should not be thinking about that as we have enough on our own plate to deal with.
“We must first win our games and then we can think about our competitors. I am angy because I am not used to this at PSV and I know what we can do. We are underperforming. Looking ahead to our match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday it’s a great tie to be involved in and we are the underdog. Should we be able to spring a surprise and win it could push us forward in the league.”
Good man! It is nice to have a coach who calls it how it is. Our national team needs a coach with this attitude rather than saying we deserved better every time points are dropped.
