Utrecht coach Eric ten Hag has confirmed that the injury suffered by goalkeeper Robbin Ruiter against Feyenoord is serious and he has been taken to hospital.

ruiter-utrThe goalkeeper was stretchered off in the second half of Utrecht’s 3-3 draw with Feyenoord after landing awkwardly on his back and neck.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag revealed they were still awaiting news on how bad the injury is, but he knows it will be serious.

He said, “I know very little, except that it is serious.

“He is certainly going to the hospital. I have no diagnosis, but he is conscious. It was possible to speak with him, but we must get a medical diagnosis.”
