Twente, a side dangling in the dreaded relegation zone host high flying Heracles, in an encounter coach Rene Hake, and indeed the entire squad, are desperate to pick up a much needed win from.
The team from Enschede will want to put their miserable 2015 outing behind them, but things haven’t improved much during the winter break with tales of unrest in the camp. Want-away midfielder Hakim Ziyech was stripped of the captaincy after giving an explosive interview to the press, and it remains to be seen whether he will feature on Friday with no transfer deal yet in the offing, while a number of other players have been linked with moves away from the club.
On the opposing end, John Stegeman with his fourth placed Heracles says they will need to return to winning ways after winning only once in six league matches.
“We cannot allow anymore complacence and therefore need to play better both at the back and in attack,” said Stegeman who has no injury concern ahead of the match.
“The break is over but overly I will say we had a very good first half of the season of which we need to build on and have a decent finish to the season.
Stegeman will have to do without star man Oussama Tannane though, after the attacker left Heracles to join Saint Etienne last week. Can Heracles still keep up their early season form without their top goalscorer?
Twente v Heracles kicks off at 7pm on Friday.
