Johan Cruyff has spoken in public for the first time since being diagnosed with cancer, with the Dutch football legend confident he will beat the illness.

The former Ajax and Barcelona legend was attending an event for his foundation less than a month since news broke that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Cruyff said to the crowd, “I am confident that I will win this fight,”
“My treatment has already begun.Right now, I have more power than before. I have an excellent team of doctors to make sure that everything goes well. ”
The 68-year-old added, “When you are told you have cancer, there is no way out. You have to face it in the best possible way. I have every confidence that it will come good.”
