The new Crystal Palace boss has looked to his home nation for a number of new signings this season, having signed Ajax’s Jairo Riedewald, and linked to Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, de Boer had originally hoped to bring back up Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen to South London. Hoping their relationship from their time spent together at Ajax would be enough to lure Cillessen away from the Catalan club did not pan out, so de Boer is looking to one of the great rivals of his former club in Eindhoven.

Zoet has been PSV’s main keeper for 4 seasons, has won the Eredivisie twice, and represented PSV in the Champion’s League. Having made 126 appearances for club and 9 for country, Zoet will likely feel equally excited and ready for the prospect of Premier League football, especially after PSV crashed out of the Europa League last week.

Should Zoet leave, it may be the next hit in an exodus away from the Dutch giants, with Jetro Willems, Andres Guardado, Davy Propper already having left, and striker Luuk de Jong looking for a move abroad as well.

I'm a digital/social marketer out of Chicago. I grew up loving Dutch football - total football is the only way to play. I support PSV in the Eredivisie, and whatever team has the most Dutch guys on it in any other league. Hup Holland Hup!
