Reports last week stated that the London club were battling Hannover 96 for the signing of the Dutch international, but Frank de Boer has denied these reports.
Speaking to Fox Sports, De Boer said on the interest in De Jong, “He is pretty expensive and not exactly what we are looking for.”
De Jong has come under fire for his form for PSV over the last year and recently gave up the captain’s armband in Eindhoven as he looks to rediscover his form. He is said to be on his way out of PSV with clubs from Italy, Germanty and Spain ready to swoop.
