After four straight Eredivisie titles, Ajax are set to lose their crown to PSV Eindhoven this season, but Blind, who left for Manchester United last season, believes that after a season of transition the future is bright for the Amsterdam side.
Blind told Voetbal International, “I try to follow Ajax as much as possible, when I have time to watch the games. Everyone knows the current games for Ajax could be better, it’s nothing new that I’m saying that.
“They now have a very young group. The players who are expected to take the lead are quite young, but when you see how many players have extended their contract…
“As Ajax keep the group together, there is something that will bloom again next season.
“It’s also very positive that Frank de Boer has indicated he will remain with the club next season. De Boer is incredibly important for Ajax.”
