Adrian Dalmau scored the only goal of the game as Utrecht defeated Fortuna Sittard 1-0.

The clash in Limburg was between two sides hoping to finish in the top seven of the Eredivisie and battle for a European Spot.

Utrecht were the stronger side from the start but they failed to take their chances in the first-half with Mimoun Mahi and Bart RamselaarΒ missing chances, while Gyrano Kerk had a goal disallowed for offside.

Utrecht pushed for the winner after the break and it eventually came through substitute Adrian Dalmau, who found the net five minutes after coming on to seal the three points for the visitors.

Utrecht strengthens their hold on seventh with the victory, while Fortuna Sittard are 11th.
