A Danilo penalty was enough to earn Feyenoord a 1-0 victory at RKC Waalwijk.

Arne Slot handed a first start to full-back Quilindschy Hartman, and he had Feyenoord’s best chance of the first half. However, Hartman’s effort was well saved by Etienne Vaessen.

The biggest chance of the first half fell to RKC Waalwijk but Michiel Kramer could not punish his former side as he headed over the bar.

Feyenoord improved in the second half and in the 65th minute they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Thierry Lutonda on substitute Patrik WΓ₯lemark. Danilo made no mistake to open the scoring.

There were further chances for Feyenoord before the end but they settled for a slender victory that moves them onto seven points. RKC are 13th.
