Netherlands face Spain in a friendly before taking on Bosnia & Herzegovina and Poland in the final two Nations League group games.
The big surprise in the provisional squad is the inclusion of Bayer Leverkusen left-back Daley Sinkgraven. The 25-year-old has never played for the Netherlands, but his performances in Germany have caught De Boer’s eye.
Youngsters Mohamed Ihattaren, Javairo Dilrosun, and Justin Bijlow have also been included, while Virgil van Dijk, Leroy Fer, Davy Pröpper and Kenny Tete are missing due to injuries.
The full squad can be seen below:
Strootman, vanaanholt, rosario, and especially Babel should not make the squad, why not Baker, Venema, van bergen, or Gapko?
Where are Botman and Bakker ?!!!
Babel and Strootman again?!!
Total agreement with Botman and Bakker, give them a taste of the first team and even if they are cut they will go back to the U21 squad. People post on here forgetting that you need to balance youth and experience, but haven’t really figured out the gripe with Rosario. I’m excited by the prospect of a 3-4-3 or 5-3-2,or something along these lines, with Hateboer and Sinkgraven. This would allow these guys a little more freedom to push forward and leave a back three (by the looks of things) to Aké, de Vrij and Veltman (not everyone agrees with Veltman, but it’s going to happen). Koeman’s team played together awhile and I think it may take one more international break, maybe two, for de Boer to get his selection to what he would like. Sad to see the downfall of Zoet though, although never really a starter in the squad, a mainstay none the less.
