de boer fDe Boer represented the Catalan club as a player, but feels he still has a lot to learn before he is ready to manage at Barcelona, and would prefer a club like Liverpool when he leaves Ajax.

Speaking to Voetbal Primeur about Barcelona De Boer said, “As for the football, the club is a match for me,”

“But do you really think I can teach them? Players like Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, Xavi and Alves? In the club you are more of a people manager.

“Then it would have been more fun to go to Liverpool, since there was improvement to make. Look where Brendan Rodgers is now with the club.”

De Boer is on the verge of becoming the first ever Ajax coach to win the Eredivisie title four years in a row, and he sees no reason to leave the Amsterdam Arena yet.

He added, “There is still plenty to win. Reaching the second round of the Champions League for example.”
