Inter Milan directors gave their vote of confidence to the Dutchman only last week but it appears the 1-0 defeat to Sampdoria was the final nail in De Boer’s coffin.
On Monday morning after weeks of speculation it was confirmed that De Boer had been sacked by the club after he spoke to the clubs Chinese owners. The former Ajax boss was only in charge of the Serie A giants for 84 days.
The sacking marks the first failure in De Boer’s managerial career, with the former defender leaving with Inter Milan sitting 12th in Serie A after only four wins in the opening eleven league games.
i hope he replace blind
I was thinking the same thing! This maybe a blessing for Oranje football!!
You’re a moron
Way to back up your opinion! We all see changes in managers and then they are given time to make some transfers and tailor a squad to their tactics. De Boer did not have that opportunity and tried to make due with what he had. So if you cannot express yourself further than a two word insult, it brings me great pleasure that you were able to type in the URL to this site and find the comments section. Congratulations on being a functioning moron.
I am not surprised. What baffled me was that he took the job in the first place. Dutch coaching and Italian football is like oil and water. Have the Dutch lost their minds in football? If I am the KNVB I get him on the National side pronto… Blind needs all the help he can get. NOW!!!
I’m not a fan of de Boer. I was not a fan of his work at ajax. His ajax played boring football and managed to squeeze by eredivisie oponents. Under Bosh I see a difference. Also Blind is doing a good job with national team I have seen improvement, that’s why I don’t think he needs de Boers boring suggestions. I also don’t think he would take an assistant position unless he was guaranteed head coach position after Blind, and I would rather see someone more experienced like Koeman
Replace Blind NOW before we are humiliated further
Playing smarter may seem boring, but defence wins and de Boer knows all too much about that. If you want exciting and score goals great, but if you’re conceding, you’re not going to win unless you can out score your opponents. We don’t have the fire power of teams past. Koeman has a job, and his focus is completely on Everton. Our strongest point is our back line, but we are lacking the organisation. Blame the keeper if you want, but it’s defensive blunders that lead to the wide open shots that lead to goals. Blind is an assistant and needs more experience, de Boer has the experience and he will have learned from the mistakes made in Serie A. I have full confidence in him.
As much as I agree with some of the thoughts below on De Boer for Oranje, the KNVB is incredibly stubborn – and slow, too. They won’t make the change unless things really go downhill the next few matches, and by then it will be too late – at least as far as 2018 qualification is concerned.
